Dr Danila Bracaglia Historian & Certified Tour Guide
I am Dr. Danila Bracaglia, a professional guide and historian.
I specialize in the Italian Campaign of World War II, with a particular focus on the key battles during the Allied advance from Salerno to Rome, including Anzio and Monte Cassino.
With a Master's Degree in History and full certification from the Italian Tourist Authority since 2005, I have spent nearly two decades guiding travelers through the battlefields and hidden stories of WWII Italy.
My passion lies in uncovering the personal stories behind the war—whether you're retracing the footsteps of a father, grandfather, or loved one who served in Italy. Each tour is customized to the unit, regiment, or division your relative belonged to, transforming historical facts into meaningful, emotional journeys.
Over the years, I have conducted extensive archival research in Italy, the UK, and the US, accessing exclusive military records, battlefield maps, duty rosters, and unpublished documents. My areas of expertise include:
My tours go far beyond military tactics. I offer a comprehensive look at the human dimension of the war—the German occupation, the struggles of Italian civilians, and the collapse and reformation of the Italian Army in 1943–44.
In addition to battlefield tours, I offer unforgettable cultural experiences in Rome and the surrounding area, including:
My mission is to honor the legacy of those who fought for the liberation of Italy and to share their stories with the world. I would be honored to guide you on this journey of remembrance and discovery.
Thank you for considering my services. I look forward to welcoming you to Italy.
